Fall OT Enrichment Groups
Canopy Kids is gauging community interest in nature-based occupational therapy groups for the fall, and would love to hear from you. Has your child done OT in the past, but needs some extra supported practice building skills in a small group setting? Or are you looking for a fun extracurricular activity for your child that offers extra support for things like following along with the group, building motor skills or emotional regulation? If so, nature-based OT groups may be a good fit! Click the link below to share with us what type of group themes your child may be interested in. We hope to offer at least 1-2 of these groups this coming fall starting September 2026. Group sessions would be held in a local park in the Twin Cities once per week for eight weeks, and would have 2-4 children of similar ages working towards similar goals. If you have multiple children who may be interested in groups, feel free to fill out the survey once for each child. We look forward to hearing from you!
Here’s an update on the logistics: We’ve heard from many of you about your favorite group themes, as well as more theme ideas for us to add! To make sure we give everyone a chance to share their thoughts, we’ll be extending the deadline to submit our group interest form to next Thursday, August 6. Mark your calendars: applications for fall groups will open bright and early on Friday August 7! Groups will run from 4:00-5:30 pm so that everyone can make it after school, and will be held in a local park in the Twin Cities. We’ll share more information and the link to sign up on our email lists and across social media, or you can access it right here on our website. Spaces are limited to ensure individualized support for participants, so be sure to sign up soon after they open to reserve your spot!

Who We Are
Canopy Kids offers individualized occupational therapy evaluation and treatment services for kids in and around Saint Paul, Minnesota.
Unlike traditional occupational therapy services that take place in a clinic, Canopy Kids works with the power of nature to build skills, resilience and self-confidence. Your family will be connected with a licensed, registered occupational therapist who will meet you at a local park or even in your own back yard to explore, play and learn together. As we like to say, adventure builds ability.
Families First
Canopy Kids was designed with families in mind. We offer fast access to therapy services, without long waitlists. We also encourage family participation in therapy sessions (parents and siblings welcome!). We've found that by including families into treatment sessions, we're able to focus on both your child's skill development and your family's understanding of your child at the same time. This helps the skills your child learns in therapy carry over more quickly into daily life.
The Therapy Process
Occupational therapy services through Canopy Kids start with an initial evaluation. First, you will meet with your therapist over the phone to share your concern areas. After your initial phone call, your family will set up a meeting either at a local park or in your own backyard so your OT can better understand your child's skills and needs areas. At the end of your evaluation, the OT will meet with your family to discuss the results and recommended steps forward. After your initial evaluation, your therapist will work with you to schedule treatment sessions at local parks and/or in your home.
Where We Go
Canopy Kids is based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. We are able to travel to families' homes and parks within a 20 mile radius of the city. If you live outside of this area, we may still be able to meet you and your family at a location that is within this radius. If you have questions about where we travel, please reach out to us below!
Community Trainings
Do you know of a local school or community partner that wants to learn more about how to support children with sensory processing, emotional regulation or motor skill needs to be more successful in outdoor settings? Canopy Kids offers community trainings for parents and caregivers as well as for staff that work with children (schools, daycares, etc.) on these topics.
